It's Spain!

They are the new men's world football champions after a long and intriguing World Cup.

1.8billion people watched them lift the cup in the final with 5 billion people having tuned in during the tournament - WOW and that's why this is a HUGE mission field!!

Becoming a world champion is an incredible achievement, but of course, there is a greater accolade that isn't earned, simply received and lasts forever and ever, unlike a medal that will eventually corrode.

Our player-coach, Jesus has already 'won' and so those of us on His 'team' get to become more than champions because of who He is and what He has done - and that's why we run to win, that's why we play - so that others can too, as it really is worth more than gold.

Here are a few recent moments of God at work through our network to encourage you and praise Him. Thank you so much for your prayer and financial support - you are helping us 'go' so that others may know.

PLAYING 'THE GAME'

During the World Cup, many ministry teams staged outreach events to impact people through the fever of the competition.

Locally in Bath, our team staged an outreach tournament in searing heat that saw teams including not-yet believers come to play and hear the great news about Jesus and his plan for them.

In Nepal, the team held a 'Veteran's World Cup' where 100 people came to play and hear the message of life; the team also staged the screening of matches where people came to watch, feast and hear the great news.

One of the teams in Burundi have also been active reaching communities through football; in Bujumbura recently 215 players were reached with 82 of them deciding to begin following Jesus including a Muslim girl who was overcome with the message of love and truth and has now entered into a Bible study group.

GETTING IN 'THE GAME'

In Pakistan, leaders from Islamabad recently casted vision and started training a new partnering team in Karachi. 25 potential leaders from 6 different churches attended and were inspired to begin a work that could impact many people in a real area of need for the gospel.

Similarly in Mali & Bangladesh, new partnering teams have begun with people from different churches excited to be equipped to help change lives.

One participant said: "I never previously realised how I could combine my passion for sport and my love for God and impact others for Him in obedience to the great commission - I can't wait!"
